Carhartt WIP, with its musical heritage rooted in Detroit, Michigan, has partnered with Berlin’s renowned club, record label, and cultural hub Tresor for a collaboration that honors the vibrant music scenes of both cities.
This partnership culminates in a capsule collection, a vinyl compilation, and a series of events in Detroit and Berlin, launching on May 23 at Carhartt WIP's website and select partners.
The nine-piece Carhartt WIP x Tresor capsule features a color palette of all-black and electric blue, adorned with reflective and glow-in-the-dark details, as well as Carhartt WIP’s iconic Boogeyman motif. This collection blends the industrial vibes of Berlin and Detroit with 90s dance floor energy, including items like the Michigan Coat, a shoulder bag, and various printed and embroidered jerseys. The lookbook video stars Berlin-based artists Jesse G, Erik Jabari, and JakoJako.
The 12” vinyl compilation, named 030313, reflects the dialing codes of Berlin (030) and Detroit (313) and harkens back to early 90s compilations like Tresor II – A Techno Alliance. It opens with “I.D.L.E,” a lost track by Model 500, featuring cosmic melodies and a winding bassline. This is followed by Ectomorph’s “Searching (Live At Globus)” and AMX’s exclusive track “Your Body.”
The B-Side includes DJ Stingray 313’s “Dynamic Instability,” with its dark, furious funk and industrial beat. JakoJako’s “Metal Goat” and Erik Jabari’s “Screamcore” round out the compilation with high energy.
The collaboration will be celebrated with a free daytime event on May 25 at Waajeed’s Underground Music Academy in Detroit, featuring a barbecue, trunk sale, DJ sets by AMX b2b Detroit in Effect and Spiñorita, and workshops by Ectomorph and HiTech. The evening will continue at Tangent Gallery with live performances from Model 500 and Titonton Duvanté, supported by Huey Mnemonic, Intergalactic Gary, and DJ Stingray 313.
In Berlin, celebrations on June 7 at Tresor will include a free barbecue and collection presentation in the club’s garden, followed by talks from founder Dimitri Hegemann and former Tresor Records label manager Carola Stoiber at the Hard Wax record store. Music will be provided by the Hard Wax team. The evening will feature a club night with performances by Moodymann, DJ Etta, AMX, Scan 7, and DJ Pete b2b Erik Jabari.
Additionally, Hamburg-based producer and DJ Helena Hauff will host June’s edition of Carhartt WIP Radio, presenting an all-vinyl mix celebrating Tresor’s legacy with tracks by 3 PHASE, System 01, Drexciya, and Joey Beltram.
The Carhartt WIP x Tresor collection is now available in-store and online.
