Henrik Vibskov: Fashion Beyond the Fabric

The name Henrik Vibskov stands for more than just a fashion label – it represents entire worlds. Each of his collections exists within its own artistic universe: sometimes playful, sometimes surreal, always unexpected. Show titles like “The Sun Will Shine On The Assembly Line,” “Biblioteca of Micro Selves,” or “Bird In Face” offer a glimpse into his unmistakable aesthetic – experimental, conceptual, and always with a hint of irony.

Between Runway, Gallery, and Stage

Since graduating from Central Saint Martins in London in 2001, Vibskov has created over 46 collections. He has been part of the official Paris Men’s Fashion Week calendar since January 2003, and in 2012, he was inducted into the prestigious Chambre Syndicale de la Mode Masculine.

Yet Vibskov’s creativity extends far beyond fashion. He designs stage sets, speaks at institutions and festivals, and is a regular presence on international art and culture platforms. Highlights include creating the stage design for the 50th anniversary of Roskilde Festival in 2021, receiving Brand of the Year at the Elle Awards in 2020, as well as numerous other accolades – among them the Cologne Thumber Award (2017) and the Thorvald Bindesbøll Medal (2016).

Artist, Musician, Multidisciplinary Mind

Despite his international recognition, Vibskov has a clear stance: he does not gift clothing to celebrities for commercial purposes. Nevertheless, artists like Björk, Kanye West, M.I.A., LCD Soundsystem, Franz Ferdinand, and Sigur Rós have chosen to wear his designs – likely drawn to his unconventional creative language.

Beyond fashion, Vibskov is also the drummer in Danish electronic musician Trentemøller’s band. His artistic works have been exhibited in renowned institutions around the world – including MoMA PS1 in New York, Palais de Tokyo in Paris, ICA in London, the Textile Museum in Washington, D.C., and the historic Kiyomizu-dera Temple in Kyoto. Collaborating with choreographer Alexander Ekman and composer Mikael Karlsson, he has designed costumes for ballet productions such as A Swan Lake, The Escapist, and Cow

Global Reach – Without Compromise

Henrik Vibskov’s collections are available in carefully selected retailers across the globe, including Harvey Nichols in Hong Kong, Fenwick in London, La Garçonne in New York, as well as in his own flagship stores in Copenhagen and New York. His work also resonates in regions such as the Middle East and Eastern Europe.

Over the course of his career, Vibskov has received numerous awards – most notably the Söderberg Prize, the world’s most highly endowed fashion award. He has also served as a lecturer and jury member at leading international fashion institutions including Central Saint Martins (London), the Istituto Europeo di Design (Madrid), and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts (Antwerp).
