The elastic-sided Chelsea boot dates back to 1851, but it wasn’t until the 70s that we gave it a rugged DM’s overhaul. Our 2976 Chelsea Boot in hardwearing Smooth leather sits on our signature grooved AirWair sole — a workwear silhouette transformed into a subcultural classic. This instantly recognisable shape speaks for itself in this monochrome rework, crafted from black Smooth leather with black welt stitching and a tonal AirWair heel loop.
The 2976 is our rugged Docs take on the classic Chelsea boot — manufactured since the 70s.
Our hardwearing and famously durable Smooth leather can be polished to shine or scuffed-up and worn-in — it's your choice. Clean with a damp cloth and care with Dr. Martens shoe polish.
A cornerstone of DM’s construction. Our original and most recognisable sole. Standing at 3.17cm, it features the traditional DM’s tread pattern — unique to Dr. Martens. One of our most flexible soles, known for comfort and stability.
Our Goodyear welt lines are heat-sealed at 700°C and reinforced with our signature welt stitch.
